Te Whare Tū Taua o Aotearoa Whakamatautau Hosted by Tūtenganahau Tū Taua and Aotearoa Pā. May 2024

Aotearoa Pā hosted this whakamatautau for Ikaroa and peka from other rohe, receiving manuhiri o ngā hau e whā for a full weekend of grading, matauranga nō Taranaki and visits to significant wahi tapū. Ngāruahine and Ngāti Ruanui uri who graded there next pou levels were:

Aotearoa Pā hononga to Tūtenganahau Tū Taua is through tuakana pou and founder of this peka, Luka Kamana, (te whanau Reihana mē Kerehoma and son of our current chair Angela Kerehoma) This peka is one of two Taranaki Peka mau rākau that follows Te Whare Tū Taua o Aotearoa. Founded by Tā Pita Sharples it is a kaupapa that uses mau rākau to connect members and whanau to te reo me ona tikanga maori, marae and hapū. If you are thinking about mau rākau as a vehicle to assist you to achieve fitness and as a vehicle to grow your connections to marae, reo mē ona tikanga then reach out and find your nearest peka.
