Pai Marire!

Aotearoa Pā is the ancestral home of the Ōkahu - Inuawai hapū of Ngāruahinerangi iwi.

Whakatau Mai!

The Marae offers well equipped amenities and caters to large groups with a sleeping capacity of 125 people in the wharenui Te Ngakaunui. The dining room seats 200 people comfortably and has a kitchen that allows for all event catering. Ample parking and a beautiful rural outlook.

The hau kāinga and Pā trustees are well placed to offer our manuhiri manaakitanga and tautoko any kaupapa held on the Pā. If a catered stay at the Pā is what you require the Pā committee can assist you with catering needs. The Pā has wifi amenities and access to connective technology, a big TV system and much more.

Our treasured kaumatua are always present to uphold the tikanga of the Pā.

Our Pā and wharenui hou are adorned in local histories told in the tukutuku and whakairo. The Pā is located minutes away from Te Ngutu O Te Manu and the coastal settlements of South Taranaki. A short drive to Te Rere O Kapuni and the many walking tracks on our tupuna maunga Taranaki.

Our Purpose

To protect and enhance the Aotearoa Marae and associated waahi tapu / sacred sites as the cultural sanctuary for the Okahu Inuawai hapu/sub-tribe, where its customs are practiced, reo/language is spoken, where inter-tribal obligations are met, where cultural exchanges take place and where Okahu Inuawai hapu culture is celebrated.
